Let’s hear it for the boys!

In honor of my husband to be’s upcoming 30^th birthday I thought I’d write a little something on Men’s fashion for a change. Here are some men to inspire you to take some fashion risks and upgrade your current wardrobe.

Justin Timberlake

You’re probably thinking big surprise a girl would suggest that men should take fashion tips from JT, but hear me out. Justin (a man who could possibly look good in anything) has a discerning style.  His ability to mix the casual and formal allows him to still be dressed up but not look pretentious.  Justin’s style has pushed fedoras, sweater vests, beards, three-piece suits and skinny ties back into fashion –have to thank the man for that.

Jason Schwartzman

Schwartzman has a quirky cool indie style that  is envy to many. This star has three modes of operation: suited up, casual cool and jeans-and-a-tee. More importantly no matter what he is sporting, it is always fitted to perfection.

To dress the Jason Schwartzman way without breaking the bank, try pairing a not-too-perfect button-down with a blazer or a cozy cardigan, putting a twist on formal wear by adding sport shoes or a track jacket to a suit or incorporating unexpected vintage accessories into any outfit (e.g. lapel pins or large bow ties) to create your own signature look.

Kanye West

Kanye West’s unique mix of prep-school style and hip-hop swagger have many trying to swipe his style. And as evidenced by his vast and varied wardrobe Kanye is a great example of how to stand out from a crowd and cultivate your own individual style. Often seen on the red carpet in satin blazers, suits and crisp dress shirts paired with funky, futuristic-looking high-tops or clad in polo shirts, cable-knit sweaters, fur, and ‘70s- and ‘80s-inspired sportswear for those casual appearances.

Kanye West is also not  afraid of colour. From lime green to pink, violet and electric blue, West frequently uses pops of bold colour to liven up his distinctive look. His standby accessories include big, chunky gold necklaces and unusual eyewear. To add a touch of Kanye West’s fresh style to your wardrobe,  add some futuristic sunglasses which are basic enough to pair with everything you own, but have enough kick to give your ensembles an edge.
